On December 6th, Universal Academy held its annual ‘Thanksgiving Celebration Luncheon’. It was a wonderful celebration by administrators and Principal Uzma Anjum, honoring the impact and importance of staff and members of the community. The Academy gathered a variety of workers and service members such as, law enforcement, firefighters, teachers, UPS workers, authorizers and school staff to give thanks for the role each plays in service to their community.
Members from the community spent time connecting with each other in an environment that showed the importance of stakeholders as part of the school community. The luncheon also provided the opportunity to interact with individuals from the various service areas while enjoying a wonderful meal prepared by UA’s own culinary team. The culinary team laid out an array of dishes - Thanksgiving dinner style and traditional Middle Eastern cuisine that were enjoyed by all. The food preparation reflected the atmosphere of cultural expression and interconnection as two traditions were linked together to celebrate a season which focuses on gathering and community.
Community members were presented and honored with a certificate and gift basket to show appreciation for their continued contribution to students and families. Additionally, teachers also received tokens of gratitude for their hard work and dedication to each one of their students. Teachers, staff and community took pictures together to commemorate the time shared together in a season that reflects gratitude and the spirit of giving back.
Appreciation was expressed to the administration of Universal Academy for taking the time to honor members of their community!
